Reign Of Fire

Today in London, 10-year-old Quinn visits his mother, a construction engineer in his work. When he gets into a cavern the workers have discovered, is a great fire dragon - which destroys the site and kills his mother.

Fast-forward to 2020. Quinn (Christian Bale, American Psycho) lives in a castle in Northumberton, the leader of the survivors of the dragon plague which has eliminated much of the human population. He and his colony, including dozens of orphans, living with the hope that someday the human race back the giant planet, flying monsters.

Enter Van Zan (Matthew McConaughey), a war-mad American and his team of military trained fighters. They offer to work with Quinn and his people, but only if they consent to the extreme tactics of the Americans to destroy the fire-breathing beasts.Directed by Rob Bowman (X Files), Reign of Fire combines elements of Aliens, the warrior of the road, and 1981 DRAGONSLAYER for a potent genre cocktail that has a traditionally medieval monster into the future and injects it into the state of the art action sequences.

The film plays as post-apocalyptic science fiction, but incredibly executed dragon sequences are a horror, especially because the characters menacing creatures slaughter prominent with extreme speed and ruthlessness.

Seabiscuit

This film reeks of false sentimentality and cloying (and annoying) “patriotic” from beginning to end! Although the costumes look accurate for the period, although a little too “cool wardrobe (although it is assumed that depression,) the way in which the actors say their lines, especially women and children seemed very ‘now’, as he speaks a mile a minute with a familiarity that would not have been seen as children or “lady” in the time period. The film is peppered with frequent use of the words “United States of America ‘and’ to bring home more used the theme of the destitute by what is important in the good ole apple pie U.S. of A. In the top of the flag that covered the entire sugar-waving, the film suffers editing horses nervous and “false” that Tobey alias Rojas and fellow jockey so obviously travel in some scenes (real horse heads bob not as rocking horses!) made me feel that if the people who made this film did not matters, then I too

The “stars” of the film are wasted in office to do anything and I found myself looking forward to the smaller character pieces to provide relief from the bumps. It is also assumed that the public had prior knowledge of the details of real history too, because the film is a panoramic, (greeting) and ‘Flash card format. A loser in my book, much more than a nose!

The Hurricane

The Hurricane If the creators of this film has decided to do it on a completely fictitious black boxer who, because of intolerance, etc is unjustly imprisoned and this film is the result I would say is pretty good. However, this film is presented as a fairly accurate portrait of life and treatment of a real man: Rubin Carter.

To claim that this movie is even ‘based’ is really a stretch. The real Rubin Carter was a very nasty piece of work by most accounts, probably committed the crimes of which he was convicted (the film blends fiction and reality of the facts to the extent that the viewer is totally misleading). For example, the film claims that Carter was convicted by an all-white jury.

This is simply not true! There are plenty of real prejudice and injustice of being challenged in the world, no traffic of this kind of nonsense irresponsible, inflammatory.

Veronica Guerin

A film with an interesting story to tell, but unfortunately it does not. All the characters are very one dimensional and the story never goes down deep enough to explain why everyone is so angry with the title character. Cate Blanchet performance becomes very annoying, his accent and his voice is like Veronica Guerin screech of chalk on a black board.

Even I am ashamed of myself when I was a child really rooting for? Bad? when he kicked in the face. There’s really nothing I liked about this movie, though music is a good copy of movie folk dark Irish music.Very disappointing?

Signs

Signs Man can not do anything wrong.Leave your brain at the door for a moment and drop some of this film inplausibilties vomits. Watch it scene by scene and see how even the slow stalking camera hangs over the front porch manages to send a chill down my spine. This is a quality film making a film of excellent quality and maker. With casting no man in the black this film takes itself seriously and is better for him.

It has its flaws. You should never reveal the true horror - good for the viewer to imagine the worst. The flashbacks are not needed - the viewers are smart, the plot need not be exposed to us.It also highlighted three scenes that require a cushion or two.

A great date movie. Oh, and Bo Young Haley Joel Osment beats any day of the week. Altogether now, “I’m scared.”

Beloved

I read the reviews before ordering this film and had to say I hesitated for a few days before he saw me preparing for a bloody horror film proper. I manage to see him at 3:30 am when I could not sleep and I am pleasantly surpised to report that it was not as horrible as some reviews have reported. Although Beloved I found welt marks on Sethe back horrible, today’s standards it certainly was not extreme.

The performance was pretty good and gave a very precise in what must have been like for those on the heels of the abolition of slavery. If there is something that will surely earn the appreciation of living in a free and democratic state.

Hope Springs

Hope Springs Off Beat A peculiar small number that has been collected I have read the book, New Cardiff by Charles Webb, in which the film is based. Oh, and Colin Firth, that makes me happy to see that their weekly supermarket shop, but I will not come to that. It starts very slowly, but it encourages a third of the way in

Some really funny bits, though I’m not sure if I laughed because I remembered the book? Did not quite live up to my expectations and has the skill of dialogue or deadpan delivery of the book, I would highly recommend the road. However, it is certainly a fun, light romantic story that maintains the intimate, local, small town a little eccentric style of the original novel.

Worth watching.

Signs

Having read the volumes obviously my comment here, I thought you liked most. Fortunately, the fact that most hated almost sums it up for me! A story with good intentions and the potential for a great film, but never developed!

I think the point that everything leads up to the most exciting moment in which he thought “Yes everything is set up, here it comes’ but not. … I just never did

He sat bewildered at the end where Signs I was still waiting to come only some of it would have been tolerable, as the turning point in the Sixth Sense [which, I add, someone said that this was a similarity in the trash, but it was nothing like the sixth sense!] Of all Anyway, I usually say to people to see so they may have experienced for themselves on a Sunday afternoon bored or something, but no, you will feel even more boring! (first time I said that in an exam!) Please, for pride, not uncomfortable.
