Casino Royale

A great fuss was made of Daniel Craig to be chosen to play Bond and hopefully all those people did not think it was right for the role (mostly based on hair color) have shown definitely wrong. Craig physically looks like he could run through a brick wall and not feel pain until much later. You can keep the screen just sitting in a chair, his eyes only manage a project of confidence, joy in the time it was to hide an attitude emotionally dead to the value of human life.

Not many “fair” can do that, only experienced, dedicated, intelligent agents that can handle. (spoilers possible from now on) Its a pity, therefore, that the film itself is a disappointment.

Its not out and out bad, but simply can not support their defects. There is nothing wrong with a simple plot but this film does not seem to know that soon spirals out of control every time unnecessarily confusing, throwing in characters from the left, right and center do not go anywhere.

Best of all was “Oh no, not him!” shot in the beginning of the last reel, who is? obviously one baddy, but who? He explained in a dialogue right at the end but who cares, the finished film … Or not?

No, not done. The action scenes are also a little confused.

Martin Campbell is a good action director with experience, who did GoldenEye, dance-like Zorro movies and the fantastic Edge of Darkness (a must) and yet everything here seems to have been fired at any angle that is formed and then together more Later in the edit room. Simply lacks that special something. In about two hours, is too long, just really need to harden within two hours.

The level of level of violence is far too much of 12A. The torture and murder is strangely not so bad (this is subjective), but there is a death toward the end (look away now if you do not want to know the results), where a drowning in which the camera lingers in the girls face as the last of the oxygen leaves the lungs and stops fighting, which is truly horrible. Now I like horrible, violent movies and talking normally deplore any form of censorship, but as this is not cut and the film received a certificate of high I do not know.

Why was there in a Bond movie anyway. Just keep making it “real.”

All this however, paled in comparison to the placement of all products. The Bond films have always had placements and tie ins, ever since the first day of Connery, but the scale of this film is stagering. Craig, a good actor, playing one of the best roles of film goes, it’s reduced to selling products.

Barry Scott is put to shame. Clocks, computers, beverages, family cars, more telephones than you know what to do with them. These are not just there, being seen to be used are specially lit stopped in and have the highest logos, even spoke directly.

I said before that the film needs to loss of half an hour, cutting the ads easily do that.

Casino Royale

I was very disappointed with this film. I really wanted to like it, but I found that not only matter what happened. It was interesting to see Bond Daniel Craig - I really rate him as an actor - but he was too charming and wood everywhere.

The seemingly endless card games - as someone who knows nothing about poker, or whatever they were playing, just do not have my attention. There were a few good bits of course - the ‘free-running’ Chase was very well done, and the collapse of the building in Venice seemed impressive. But overall, I daresay that left me cold.

Adaptation

Absolutely brilliant. I adored this movie and must be in my top three this year. Cage has a weakness for blockbusters, but when he does something like this reminds us what a great actor verstaile really is, and the fact that twin brothers can play so natural and great comic effect is a testament to his talent.

Continually makes you smile, laugh, mourn and … wait …

really think! It asks questions but does not aim to have all the answers, so I do not understand it crashed in the throat as you would in other movies.I prefer less sedation, the first half “subtle” to the second but as you look to understand there is method in the apparent madness Kaufman.

This film is beautiful and full of surprises at the end of the movie you feel like you’ve made a new friend.

Across The Universe

Beatles songs may have provided the soundtrack for the lives of those who came of age in the 1960s, but their actions extensive catalog of the literal soundtrack in this romantic musical from visionary director Julie Taymor. Newcomer Jim Sturgess stars as Jude, a young man working on the docks of Liverpool. Eager to escape, went to Princeton, where he meets Max (Joe Anderson).

But his meeting with Max’s younger sister Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood) that changes him. They quickly fall in love, but their relationship is tested by the chaos of the 1960s and Max arranged tour in Vietnam. Throughout the film, characters burst into classics from The Beatles: students sing ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’, while Uncle Sam bursts from a recruitment poster with strains of’ I Want You (She’s So Heavy ‘.

U2’s Bono makes a cameo as a counterculture leader and sings “I Am The Walrus” and Eddie Izzard provides a trippy rendition of “being for the benefit of Mr. Kite”.

Sturgess puts in a charming and earnest performance as Jude and is certainly capable of carrying the film. Wood deftly balances Lucy’s naivete and knowledge, easily moving between her love for Jude and her passion for her cause. Although the performances are strong, it’s Taymor’s gifted direction that makes the whole universe so fascinating to watch.

As in Frida and Broadway, The Lion King, shows herself an artist with creativity few can match. Director of photography Bruno Delbonnel also deserves praise for his contribution to the stunning visuals.

He has worked with Jean-Pierre Jeunet on Amelie and A Very Long Engagement, and he brings the same sense of romance and fantasy in this unique musical.

Rescue Me - Season 1

Definitely not the whole family, my son likes the theater of action, ie the firefighters in action. There was very little fire or rescue. The plot of almost every episode is based on how firefighters would, did or had sex.

Some of the scenes were very graphic, too. I thought the series would follow the crew of a fire station in the wake of 9-11, scratched the surface and one of the characters spend much time talking to the dead, and sometimes all of those who died with a connection to He remained in it (of course that no one could see.) This was a cross between The Sixth Sense and Londons burning.

Hostel

I first saw the film Hostel and loved it. Gender is a completely new and very ill, but was so different that I loved it immediately. No charges should go ahead and kick that dilute the impact, but I totally admire these guys deal with this issue and dare to do what nobody else has.

You need to be a little warped to enjoy this. My husband was sitting with a pillow over your eyes for a bit of that!

The acting is a bit tacky, but in places they look beyond that because of the excellent plot.

The Larry Sanders Show

It never ceases to amaze me that the U.S. shows like this and Seinfeld were released very late at night on weekdays, while the cure for insomnia friends was (and probably still is) at peak times during the week. Sure, it contains strong language, but this does not seem out of place, unlike in programs such as Jamie s Kitchen S. Gordon In this case, the satire is the highest form of wit, and in my opinion shows like this that really The Larry Sanders Show changed American television, which was an irony-free zone before the nineties.

Our own comedy lost its way at the moment, but perhaps in part thanks to the likes of Seinfeld and Sanders, things have picked up again with the Office of Phoenix Nights. If you like this, I suggest that current sample also LL Curb Your Enthusiasm and Arrested Development (where the actor who plays Hank Kingsley is reincarnated as a multi-millionaire sentenced to escape, hiding in the attic of her family home ).

Gladiator Rowdy Herrington in GLADIATOR, Tommy (James Marshall) and Lincoln (Cuba Gooding, Jr.), two poor high school students on the edge of juvenile delinquency, have taken boxing. Although it is a dangerous sport, fighting helps keep them on the street and out of violent gangs. It is also a way for these children to earn money, sublimate anger towards absent fathers, and numb the emotional pain of their broken homes.

Unfortunately, all the young fighters are controlled by Horn (Brian Dennehy), a businessman from the exploitation of the dire hungry boxers like pigs award for his illegal matches. But with a little luck and mutual friends, Tommy and Lincoln may beat all the odds.
