Chocky

Chocky After reading the book and being a fan of John Wyndham for the last couple of years I was excited about the opportunity to see this series since I’ve seen all up.We grown as children in the 80s and all I remember pyramid was the theme song from fear. I was grateful to how dated and some of the acting, the sets and effects remind me of the parody series Dark Place Morenghi Garth is no doubt this is one that is “spoofing.” I do not think enough good old shows are repeated on TV just because they think they are too old, even if they are quality.

You can spend it or enjoy nostalgia. What impressed me was how, as the director in the accompanying interview, he does not believe in writing to the children. I felt it was obvious. It’s funny how the guy was also known, and the disturbing theme song is perfect.

Even with the dated synthesizer sounds in the song, sound effects and voice Chocky I still get that other world, futuristic, fear of the unknown environment it Now.I m ‘not sure today’s children in day be able to enter it due to being so dated, but I’d be wrong on this.

Casshern

“Casshern” is a frustrating film that promises much but fails to deliver. Located in the aftermath of a war between Europe and Asia, “Casshern centers” in the conflict between two seemingly all-powerful beings created with the “neo-cell” technology developed at the military lab geneticist Dr. Grant amoral

Azuma. With its tail, heavily stylized battle scenes’30s retro design, and photography overexposed Scratchy, the CGI is really impressive.

However, chronically abused and not worth the argument incoherent and epic, but complicated motivations of key characters. In this regard, comparisons with disappointing U.S. CGI-fest’Sky Captain ‘, are not misplaced. Do not bother with ‘Casshern’ if you’ve seen the trailer and think you are in a mature exploration of the nature of war, revenge, the blurring of lines between human morality and the limits of science.

We rent this if you like big robots.

Tenth Kingdom, The - The Entire Series

Tenth Kingdom, The - The Entire Series This has to be the best thing I’ve seen for a long time. Its all set in a magical realm where fairy tales come true, and its forward classic good versus evil. The quality is excellent, in particular, Sean Cohen as the wolf giving a strangely sexy performance as a werewolf, and Diane Wiest, the only role I’ve seen play with great wickedness.

Even if goblins, dragons and poisoned apples are not your bag, then you still have to see this. It has an innocence and charm that is missing from television since the Wizard of Oz and Dr Who finished.

Firefly - The Complete Series

A colleague helped me with this as a collar around the edges of the space adventure. It was set in a galaxy that seems alive, pulled together a team most likely to reach only a number and have laid the groundwork for a run of bad episodes. Not afraid of killing a character or desserts to share only the villain of this series is strange attitude …. Star Wars is not (but not much), but fortunately is more Star Trek star wars.

So if your in your space adventure science fiction, but Star Trek is very likely that a clean cut and politically correct that you need to see this.

Transformers

As a huge fan of the original series (not the money renews million) went to see this film with a certain degree of anxiety, not wanting to see my old favorites get a rubbish film its name. It soon became evident that it was not all Transformers, more an homage using some of the same names.

That said it’s not a bad action movie, with a typical Michael Bay extravaganza to it. The action is great (though a little fuzzy in places) and the character of each processor is well defined, with at least a nod to the original. Now the bad bits.

As a fan I would say that much has changed for the sake of it. Where was the rivalry between the individual processors? Megatron in which it becomes a weapon to be used by Starscream?

Why was there so much human history when all they want to see is that the processors? It is by far one horrible part of the film that almost ruined for me, the inclusion of the very irritating Decepticon Jaar Jaar Binks guy who did all the hacking and something planned for humans to contend with - the total garbage that he had written for the arrival of good Soundwave’s cassettes (Ravage, Rumble, anyone!) was good to see the Transformers get the CGI treatment long overdue that they deserve, but it was the original movie music, and no new taxes, I was humming on the way home.

Fantastic Four

I was very excited about a pizza and beer festival, the mind on the type of neuteral sit and relax at night. What gave me the Fantastic Four was an hour and a half of me getting glued to the TV pieces. Please this film to take into account that there has been a lot of fantastic (pardon the pun) in superhero movies recent years, I can not even begin to explain what a disappointment this film is potentially was.It the ingredients needed to be awsome, however it seemed kind of ran with a story line. For totally weak for most of the films wishing my eyes had been sucked out by a goat and replaced with hot toffee apples, thats how I was dissappointed with this film was taken effort. This my Santa wish list.

Battlestar Galactica - The Mini Series

Battlestar Galactica - The Mini Series NOTE: This is the introduction of the new television series. It has been over 40 years since the humans of the 12 Colonies of Kobol will battle with the Cylons - a race of conscious robots that turned on their creators with deadly results.

The robots have observed the armistice that ended the Cylon War, but the promised diplomatic relations between man and machine never materialized. Silent for years, the deadliest enemies of mankind now are resurfacing with a vengeance - and this time they have taken human form.

After a swift and deadly attack, the human race is once again reduced to a motley fleet of fighters, facing a final unwinnable battle. Do they make a firm stand against the Cylons, hoping to succeed against all odds? Or is it to flee in search of another hospitable world?

Serenity

Admittedly, the audience in the cinema were divided in this case. Half were cooing, clapping and smiling enough to light the movies.

The other half, including myself are fidgetting and could not leave fast enough. The problem for me was that it was another TV show, except that I had paid the charges to go see him.

The script is poor, the average quality and the whole thing very convincing (which is a fan of science fiction and horror). If the writer / director set out to make its Star Wars, this is closer to the poorest of an episode of Star Trek spin off or Battlestar Gallactica.

Solaris

Do not expect your typical Sci Fi meal here. This is NOT a science fiction movie. This is a fascinating study of grief, redemption and acceptance of forgiveness happens to be set on a space station!

There are great performances from the entire cast, but Clooney is excellent as a man with immense regret and pain. This may sound like a really depressing movie, but in reality its very exciting and makes you feel that you have had the opportunity to think about something more substantial. If you find “Amerian Beauty” encouraging that there is a good chance that you will enjoy this.
