Tell Them Who You Are

Tell Them Who You Are “is a fascinating look at a father of a child. What elevates this from being just a family melodrama of age is that both Haskell Wexler (Father) and Mark Wexler (the son) are filmmakers. Haskell Wexler was director of photography in Silver City, The Thomas Crown Affair (the original), One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, In the Heat of the Night and many many other films are really great.

It is a thoughtful and moving piece of cinema, is the brand reach through a personal and political gap with his father to try to reach an understanding with him. Junior Wexler manages to show his father without any trial which means that initially cut a little irritating Tell Them Who You Are and Figure rude. Wexler Junior meets his parents friends and colleagues who speak honestly and openly, and the bonus is to hear Martin Sheen talking about the meaning of life: to win our freedom in every possible level.

To learn about his two races, but is filtered through their personal lives, which are closely linked with the films and projects they have done. In-depth interviews with some of the greats of Hollywood about being sons of a powerful father (or being a strong father) joined the universal appeal of this documentary. This film transcends Hollywood.

No presentation here. Just normal people who happened to be in the entertainment business to be honest about that experience.

Magic!

Grey Gardens

So Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale became a recluse and instead encouraged adults living alone only child from New York and lives with her in his house “Gray Gardens” a decrepit mansion with 28 rooms in The Hamptons, Long Island . Both women live in the past, recalling the happy and sad memories, how they interact with men in their lives, as the song was his only pleasure and how they feel now. We presented to 2 very different time periods for 2 fiercely independent, but ultimately very sympathetic to women who have grown old together.

This documentary filmed in 1975, when Edith was 79 and Little Edie 56 has been heavily criticized for being too intrusive, but the filmmaker demeening reads a letter from Little Edie fully support. The newspapers refused to publish, as they claimed he was mentally ill. Far from it.

Be sure to watch all the extras, fascinating. Edith died in 1977 after a fall and Gray Gardens Little Edie sold in 1979, had a brief career in New York as a cabaret artist moved to Florida, where he died in 2002. Her body lay undiscovered for about 5 days.

The new owners of Gray Gardens have been restored to its former glory.

Fahrenheit 9/11

Before I watched this movie was not? Ta George Bush fan and I was surprised when he was reelected. However, I do not? I know how many of the issues raised in this documentary was made. I don? I know what balanced reporting was.

I don? I have the time to check each claim. After watching this documentary, I have to keep reminding myself that there are two sides to every story and so it must keep an open mind.

Problem is keeping an open mind, this film was so convincing, that was so powerful and were ready for anything, except to hint and felt really surprised. Astonished that Bush never should have been re-elected by anyone who watched this movie.

I can only imagine that much of it has proven to be garbage. To tell the truth, I? M praying that most of what has proven to be garbage otherwise, this is a testimony damming on the rules governing the developed world, a regime that no one seems to be doing much in change.

As for the characterization of this as a movie, you have to say its very well done, no matter how you look. Yes? S of garbage, a work of fiction, then I just saw a very compelling shocker, with all the excitement of a good horror, even in hours, “continues the bad” for a sequel.

Yes? S all true, if I just saw, nonfiction, documentary based on reality? Then … then? I do not want to think about the consequences that go far beyond where 4 or 5 star award for the ability to see.

Manufacturing Dissent - Uncovering Michael Moore

This documentary is bad, it’s that simple. Most people are thinking I’m a fan of Michael Moore, therefore, dislike of this film, and I’m not a fan.

Bowling For Columbine, it was okay, Roger and Me as well, but Fahrenheit 9 / 11 was nothing short of horrible. Tactics were used very cheap and actually made sympathy for Bush, which I hate.

The problem is that Manufacturing Dissent has no real purpose. Moore bends the truth in his films (and sometimes lies) seems to be the only point of the documentary have to do and that is nothing Manufacturing Dissent - Uncovering Michael Moore that do not already know.

One of my problems with the manufacture of Mines dissent is how they try to convince you how big a fan of Michael Moore are / were before they really get into the movie, this is obviously a lie, never set out to make a nice movie of it that’s fine, but not lying about his motives. You not get a real sense that it is a bit of an a ** e but most people are not massive following because he is so new that you actually saying anything. I would not recommend this for any reason.

Tupac Shakur - A New Look

In my humble opinion, this is the most useless of DVD I’ve seen. There were some clips of Pac’s mother and one short of the Outlawz.

The rest is random people on the street talking about Pac. Some clips were even repeated!

ONLY one to avoid definitely. The something new and interesting I learned: Tupac Shakur - A New Look Tupac was thinking of converting the ‘World Rap’ more than just polotical due to the influence of Hip Hop in young black and use it for something good instead of conducting his lifestyle. Why Is this relevant you can ask / think? Because it was a month before he died! Make of it what you want …

Ramones - End Of The Century

This is a decent stab at a story Ramones, and given the quality of the material, on the one hand, it would be too difficult to make a hash of it. That said, anyone who cobbled this together, not just stressed.

I doubt that this movie offers much new information for most fans of the Ramones and not actually submerge much of the unknown. With a million great songs to choose from, there was a Ramones - End Of The Century surprising lack of airtime allocated, and while the band of all friction acknowldge legendary, “all we have here are vague suggestions of how this evolution -” Johnny is too much control,”Dee Dee is an addict.

So?! What’s new?

A little more on the way to finding more interviews and music would have done wonders for this production. I still get 4 stars and absolutely worth watching, simply because the Ramones are an excellent band.

Nureyev - Rudolf Nureyev

Nureyev - Rudolf Nureyev Structured and well-extraordinary portrait of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century’s. ? Even for non-balletomanes, personality, background color of this superstar of the sixties a visit. ? However, the greatest pleasure comes in seeing dancing - and images by award-winning solo performance of The Corsair as a student graduating from the Kirov is one of those gems that make one grateful for the invention of cinema camera .

? There are several highlights, including Pierrot Lunaire, Apollo, Don Quixote and examples of their collaboration with the legendary Margot Fonteyn. Interviews with people who knew him do not overburden the story, and well edited to give a varied in its character and his career.

All those who have ambitions, in any form of art, be careful of the feet in the last scene in the bar moving.

Fahrenheit 9/11

Fahrenheit 9/11 Good to see things we have always suspected (on the Florida election false, irrational bombing of Afghanistan, the relationship between the Iraq war and oil, etc.) presented in a way so clear. This film does not come across as a set of conspiracy theories, but as a hard fact - and there were some very revealing new (for me) pictures here. It is unusual for a film to be nonfiction, but everyone should see this and think about it.

Aside from a woman who seemed more dramatic fantasy herself as an actress and seem a little too often, the rest of the film was dispassionate and objective.
