Once A Thief

How do you get a cast like this and make it a silly movie. John Woo should be ashamed for making this self-indulgent film.

Also dont expect shootings Woo classic, this is cheap shot Hollywood standard, unmarked Woo. Really disappointing.

Also what Once A Thief gets up my nose that gave this film extras classic Woo and fats, the murderer. Why.

It gets 2 stars because I laughed at a scene involving a header decide henchman C4. If you keep this cartoon violent tone, this is very funny.

Ong Bak

The title says it all. Tony Jaa is fantastic.

Many people I know were postponed by the fact that this film is subtitled, but Tony Jaa action is thinner and more fun than you’ve seen most popular martial arts. Petchtai Wongkamlao as his side kick is fun trying to copy his movements, like us, normal people in one of the best foot chases I’ve seen in a movie.

For that scene alone is worth it, but if you can get in the subtitles of a plot to light interesting links gags and tricks all together well. Can not wait to see his new film Warrior King - I hope it will be in English to show Tony Jaa to a wider audience.

Warrior King

I stopped watching martial arts movies a few years ago - was bored watching people fly around the cables with a more agilitry Apache attack helicopter. This just might make me do more research. Yes, the plot is a bit thin, but there is a conspiracy (and not a spiritual garbage or crazy )….

and for a martial arts movie thats a big advantage. The first 20 minutes or so is not in English, no subtitles, and a little on the irritating side because of that. But then you’re in treatment, the fight scenes are excellent, and I take my hat off to the production team - who did a great Warrior King work.

There are few jobs of wire evident in the scenes, but on the limits of sanity, and works well. In reality, of course, local hospitals have a total emergency declared disaster blown, orthopedics and would have been overwhelmed by the number of broken bones caused this type - and you hear every break … .. ouch:) All in all we really enjoyed this, and considering my feelings in martial arts films these days, who says the mountains.

If you are a long-standing martial arts fan - you will be in seventh heaven. Even if you’re not, give it a go - it just could rekindle their interest in the genus …..

Ong Bak

There’s a new kid on the block and I think it will be around a long time. Impressive combat action stunts ever thought possible.

Tony Jaa seeing for the first time, took me back to when I first saw the likes of the great masters of martial arts films Steven Seagal, Ong Bak Jackie Chan, JC Van Damme, Bruce Lee and Jet Li retired now. This guy has a little of all these great fighters in his great Muay Thai style of fighting.

Thanks! for this new talent for the future of martial arts films. See this movie and then rent impressive Warrior King.

Farscape - Season 5 - Peacekeeper War

Farscape - Season 5 - Peacekeeper War Farscape has to be one of the best science fiction series that “used to be” on TV. That was canceled at the end of its fourth season was a grave injustice to all its fans and its great to see that given a chance to tie all the loose ends left dangling. Oh boy!

does tie the ends. Farscape Any fan will love this, anyone with even the smallest nuance in his heart for science fiction will love this. Take it from me, you will love this mini-series.

Rent now!

Zu Warriors From The Magic Mountain

The only winning movie stars wo tThe because I could not choose one and a half! The film is really showing its age.

I like Asian movies and I like movies based on fantasy, but you’d be better to see old films of Ray Harryhausen (Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, and his brothers movie) than this. Even the monster blood is disappointing Zu Warriors From The Magic Mountain - I thought I could have done more with a large sheet of red. And the story is quite superficial while still managing to confuse!

Much work early wire I am sure is cutting edge in its day, but it seems now.But fan might be worth a punt if you just want a blast from the past and the feeling of the 70s/80s

One Missed Call

Can you first clarify that this is the original Japanese, not the remake. While not a bad movie, it’s easy to draw parallels many ‘Ring’.

For that reason, one might say that Japanese horror is a pretty formulaic: Paranoid, schoolgirls screaming? Check!

Methods unpleasant death? Check!

Scary woman with long dark hair? Check!

This makes it sound like I’m doing a One Missed Call disservice - I’m not. It’s just that after seeing ‘Ring’, you will notice the similarities. Regardless, still an interesting watch that is well above many other horrors western and definitely worth seeing.

Anyway, I’d like to see one before making the new version, like the previous form has always been the Japanese originals to be much better. (Ring, The Grudge, anyone …?)

Shutter

I really enjoyed this Thai thriller. I must admit that there has been an excess of the horrors of Asia in the last couple of years, but in my opinion are still the best. Shutter has one of the most original ensemble pieces I’ve seen in a movie with a simple camera flash to create tension and suspense.

I was a little afraid of seeing another oriental girl with long black hair disturbing in its own way Shutter through a movie and what he thinks is a plot similar to The Grudge, The Ring, Dark Water, etc. But everything changed and stayed in suspense until the end, I hasten to add that leaves you with the image of another chilling and original. Highly recommended.

I can not wait to compare this with the 2 new versions, the Indian remake ‘Sivi’ and the U.S. remake ‘Shutter’. I fear that both will be lower than the original.

Bang Rajan

Bang Rajan Bang Rajan is a small village in Thailand that stands against opressing Burmese troops. This is a Thai film, and I must confess that I’m not up on the history of this country.

This is a “true story” in regard to content. How real is hard to say, but this is very folklaw like the story of the Alamo.

The budget is low, but the commitment of the actors and filmmakers is very high. I made a bet on this as I have seen many times in countless Hong Kong announced Legands DVD releases. This is not a great film, but is one to watch for some historical background.

Martial arts is not so much as I expected, but the battle scenes are quite impressive.Watchable and entertaining. The commentary track is worth listening too.
