Barton Fink

Lord above I think this movie is probably a five, but I had not seen for years and when I saw a moment ago was a little down and so did not help my mood I have only 4 … .. but surely any great Coen film (and this is certainly one of those) deserves a five …. but I do not jar my mood that’s maybe what he defines as a period of four (almost five) .. .. This review is damn hard and I managed to do most of obsession and self-examination EVER not even mentioned the movie and what its about. So basically, writer’s block can be hell. The genius in the movie’….. Typical Coen style, but only if already in the mood!

Seabiscuit

This film reeks of false sentimentality and cloying (and annoying) “patriotic” from beginning to end! Although the costumes look accurate for the period, although a little too “cool wardrobe (although it is assumed that depression,) the way in which the actors say their lines, especially women and children seemed very ‘now’, as he speaks a mile a minute with a familiarity that would not have been seen as children or “lady” in the time period. The film is peppered with frequent use of the words “United States of America ‘and’ to bring home more used the theme of the destitute by what is important in the good ole apple pie U.S. of A. In the top of the flag that covered the entire sugar-waving, the film suffers editing horses nervous and “false” that Tobey alias Rojas and fellow jockey so obviously travel in some scenes (real horse heads bob not as rocking horses!) made me feel that if the people who made this film did not matters, then I too

The “stars” of the film are wasted in office to do anything and I found myself looking forward to the smaller character pieces to provide relief from the bumps. It is also assumed that the public had prior knowledge of the details of real history too, because the film is a panoramic, (greeting) and ‘Flash card format. A loser in my book, much more than a nose!

Superbad

For the first fifteen minutes you wonder if this just an attempt to invent so many bad purile new words as possible while discussing girls, pornography and sexual frustration. Stick It Out, the film is more fun and funny as the story unfolds.

There is a silent movie gross, but if you are easily offended by sexual language will not be the movie for you. Description of the plot would not do justice to the film, just sit, watch, and be prepared to not stop laughing.

Each character is allowed to develop rather than relying on 2 characture dimensions, and the story flows smoothly, allowing this could have been a real night out rather than a makeshift plot that clumsily connects the comedy set pieces. This is undoubtedly going to become a classic easily ranking alongside Animal House and American Pie.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

First, and despite appearances, this film is not about drugs though definitely a strong theme again. The movie is actually more about the power that led to the sixties (what ever that was) is rapidly losing its place in the 1970 U.S. conservative.

Film SA is hilarious but has a dark heart handicapped by the fact that the past - from the failures of the ’60s. Raul and Dr. Gonzo treat your trip to Las Vegas as a great opportunity to have a good time rubbing their faces that makes Americans so crazy conservatives.

The plot does not exist, but the flashback style can get confusing at first. This is a movie full of hilarious, eccentric detail. Some of the best liners once - “We can not stop here, this is bat country!” It has to be in the Oxford dictionary of quotations!

Needs a bit of concentration and I wouldn t suggest to look under any kind of influence, and that s designed to be an intoxicating assault on sober conciseness. You do not have to know about drugs to identify with this film - that s not the point. No s drug slapstick humor that s objective s the joy of seeing so intense obscenity and excess.

Deep and Del Toro are brilliant and much of the script, from the book, is a genius. A hilarious, intense film, smart and bold.

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen

I had been warned this was a terrible movie that are unrelated to the fantastic graphic novel by Moore and O’Neill, but I gave it a chance anyway. I really want that.

Never in living memory been so impressed by a movie. The plot and script are terrible, any attempt at literary reference (which were full of books) was so excessive, said he lost all the points.

The characters are different to the books and have no subtlety. This film does not merit the name you have. The one and only salvation is the work of art that has gone on the sets certainly impressive.

They are really only makes reference books. The rest has been turned upside down and emptied of all value. And not even interesting, which has left behind.

A real crime on film.

Monkey Business

It’s a set-up at their point for their own brand of anarchy, but unfortunately the limits instead of giving wide latitude to do whatever they want. The Marx Brothers are always at their best when they are not constrained by the plot and can only run amok in the entire film, but this is not the case here, unfortunately.

The plot is too constrictive on them and chokes a little life in them, which means “Monkey Business” is that rare thing indeed: a Marx Brothers film that is boring patches. The story gangster (turns into bodyguards in a battle between two rival gangsters) is full of potential, but never comes out and just gets in the way instead. It is as if the director McLeod had no confidence in the brothers to carry the film and so insisted that hinder their style with a plot too fussy.

Put it this way, Zeppo has almost as much as the screen and the time frame as Groucho. And that is never a good thing. Chico and Harpo seems unusually quiet too, with only a moment of drilling anywhere in practice being close to his best.

But for as much as the first forty minutes can be dull, the last forty are much brighter, and Sparkie much more fun. “Monkey Business” really starts in gear, when the Marx Brothers are trying to escape the boat and passed through passport control. Thereafter, it is quite classic Marx Brothers as the product prurient nonsense Groucho devastate everything that comes into contact with.

It’s a shame it’s so wait to get there.

Rashomon

This film caused a sensation in the West when it appeared in 1950, but age has not been kind to him, despite or perhaps because of the reputation of its director. However, it may be worthwhile to students of cinema, the film seems too polite to the modern age. The proceedings owe more to traditional Japanese Noh theater standards to Western audiences are accustomed, so expect manic fits of laughter and what in most films would be judged entirely on the superior performance.

The pace is painfully slow.A penalty. Do not expect another Seven Samurai or Throne of Blood.
